Time for the statutory report of packaging quantities for 2024
Companies that place packaging on the market in Denmark must now report their actual packaging quantities for 2024. The report is part of the producer responsibility on packaging.
What needs to be reported?
Companies must report how much packaging they have made available on the market in 2024, categorized by material types. VANA's members can report via the Member Portal up and until the 30th of April where they:
- enter quantities for 2024 in the relevant material categories (no eco-modulation)
- contact VANA if there is a need to add more material categories
- report the information so it can be reported to the authorities
Why is the report important?
The batch report is part of the implementation of the new producer responsibility for packaging. The report ensures that the authorities have an accurate overview of the packaging quantities on the Danish market.

What happens next?
From October 2025, the organisational aspect of the producer responsibility enters into force, meaning that companies will have to continuously report their packaging quantities. In 2026, packaging quantities for the period January-September 2025 must also be reported.
