VANA calls for clarification and harmonisation in consultation responses
VANA has sent its consultation response to the Ministry of the Environment for the executive order on registration and reporting. In VANA's response we have e.g. requested that the guidance for interpreting the rules should be to be speeded up, so that companies can find out as soon as possible whether they are covered.
CEO Marianne Roed Jakobsen begins the consultation response, which is also signed by VANA's entire Board of Directors by saying: "It is positive that the Ministry of the Environment wants to harmonise the Danish legislation with the upcoming EU packaging regulation. The producer responsibility entails a high administrative and financial burden for companies, and therefore it remains crucial that the revised timetable is not delayed, just as we call on the Ministry of the Environment to prioritise guidance and information campaigns as well as announcements regarding the rules for collateral."

The executive order is scheduled to be issued in mid-March and will come into force on 1 April 2024, when registration to the authorities (DPA) also opens. Read more about registration and reporting here.
